MONDAY JUNIOR “GLEE”FUL CHORAL ENSEMBLE
4-5PM AGES: 8-11 FEE: $190
INSTRUCTOR: VINCENT MOTTERN

Join us for this high energy vocal class inspired by the popular television show GLEE! Learn to sing in an ensemble, while honing your harmonizing skills and musical theatre techniques. There will be an informal classroom demonstration at the end of the 10-week session.

MONDAY BROADWAY BASICS I/II
5:30-6:30PM AGES: 4-5 FEE: $190

Everyone loves the music of Broadway, and our youngest actors are no exception. Act, sing and dance in this musical theatre introductory class. A wide variety of exercises to instill the concepts of focus and discipline seasoned with a healthy dose of laughter and fun provide a winning atmosphere for learning.

MONDAY MUSICAL THEATRE KIDS
6:30-7:30PM AGES: 6-8 FEE: $190
INSTRUCTOR: SAMANTHA GIUSTINIANI

This class provides a fabulous journey into the world of the Broadway musical. Utilizing a variety of acting games and activities, young performers will begin to understand the creative process and how to bring a song and a script to life. Class includes vocal work as well as acting, music and movement.

MONDAY BEGINNER ACTING SKILLS I/II
6:00-7:00PM AGES: 8-11 FEE: $190
INSTRUCTOR: MELANIE TAYLOR

In this introductory level class young thespians will learn the basic elements of acting for the stage. The use of the body, voice, and mind to create believable characters and learning to interpret scripts will be the focus of this course.

MONDAY BEGINNER ACTING SKILLS FOR TEENS
7:00-8:30PM AGES: 12-17 FEE: $275
INSTRUCTOR: MELANIE TAYLOR

This class provides the perfect environment to challenge your creative energy and to see if you have what it takes to become an actor. Students will learn the importance of projection,articulation, and rhythm in speaking dialogue. They will also begin to understand the need for bringing flexibility, endurance and energy to all actions and movements. Additionally, they will learn to layer emotion, and how to use creativity and imagination to create dynamic characters.

For musical theatre lovers this is the perfect class to experience the joys of singing and acting. Musician/educator, Vincent Mottern brings to his classes a positive approach and a passion for music and theatre…sure to inspire and bring out the very best in every student. An in-classroom demonstration will be held at the end of the 10-week session.

TUESDAY ACTING TECHNIQUES I/II
6-7:30PM AGES: 9-12 FEE: $275

INSTRUCTOR: ROBIN ODDO

Expand your acting prowess in this techniques class. All exercises are designed to give young actors the opportunity to improve their level of expertise and to gain an understanding of character analysis and scene study. As students’ acting skills broaden, they are able to layer their performances with more dimension, believability, and a strong dynamic.

TUESDAY TAP TECHNIQUE CRASH COURSE
6-7PM AGES: TEEN/ADULT FEE: $190
INSTRUCTOR: TOM STANTON

Dance is an important skill for all of those interested in Musical Theatre. In this class you will be on the fast track to learning the basics of Tap Dancing; whether your goals are to ace an audition, improve your current skills, or enjoy a dance workout, this is the perfect place to start. More advanced dancers are equally challenged by Mr. Stanton’s warm-ups, combinations and choreography. Teens and adults are all welcome to join. See combo opportunity to save money!

TUESDAY IMPROV WORKSHOP
7-8:30PM AGES: 12 & UP FEE: $275
INSTRUCTOR: DAN COOLEY

Learn the basics of improv comedy, how to listen and be aware of the other players. Learn to experiment with a variety of “choices” and the importance of acceptance. While improvisation is in and of itself great fun, the principles learned in this workshop can be applied to your acting techniques classes to help you to create more depth and layering in your various role interpretations. WEDNESDAY BROADWAY DANCE BASICS I/II
4-5PM AGES: 8-11 FEE: $190
INSTRUCTOR: KATE HAVEL

“…a 5, 6, 7, 8…Broadway dance, usually performed in musicals, is popular around the world. It was not until the 20th Century that dancing and drama became truly integrated and “Broadway Dance” was recognized as a new style of jazz dancing. One of the ingredients to becoming a “triple threat” performer is to become comfortable in a wide variety of dance moves and styles. Class will cover the most common patterns, movements, and rhythms from Broadway’s Golden Age right up to the most recent rock oriented showstoppers.

Ms. Giustiniani’s class is ideal for young actors interested in musical theatre. Students will work on vocal skills, as well as character and lyric interpretations. This class is ideal for those who are ready to forge a new identity as an actor. Learn and apply the “insider” techniques taught by film acting pro, Dan Cooley. You’ll be on your way to becoming a fearless actor who is willing to take chances elevating the craft of acting to the next level. THURSDAY KIDS ON CAMERA

INSTRUCTOR: MEGAN SAMBATARO NO CLASS MAY 10

Our youngest budding actors learn the basics of acting in commercials and television. A variety of theatre games are incorporated to help students gain confidence and a natural acting technique while working on camera. Each session is different and not a repeat of the previous session’s curriculum.

THURSDAY POP/ROCK VOCAL ENSEMBLE
5-6PM AGES: 9-13 FEE: $190
INSTRUCTOR: VINCENT MOTTERN NO CLASS JUNE 21

Don’t just sing in the shower; join your fellow vocalists instead in this 10-week vocal class. Learn to harmonize and sing in an ensemble while honing your vocal and performance skills. Students will be given the opportunity to reinforce basic breathing, posture and breath control techniques under the expert tutelage of a professional musician and educator.

THURSDAY ACTING FOR THE CAMERA
5-6PM AGES: 6-8 FEE: $190
INSTRUCTOR: MEGAN SAMBATARO NO CLASS MAY 10

This is the perfect environment for learning to perform on camera. Gain confidence as you improve your acting and speaking skills. Learn the proper techniques for working on camera and what to expect in the audition process. Using video recordings taken during the class, students will be able to self-critique. Simple script work and the use of cue cards will be introduced.
 
THURSDAY SENIOR ACTING FOR TV/FILM
6-7PM AGES: 9-12 FEE: $190
INSTRUCTOR: MEGAN SAMBATARO NO CLASS MAY 10

Explore the types of shots and camera techniques that are used in today’s commercial acting industry. Become familiar with the “language” that is used on the set. Learn what to expect and how to prepare for agency and commercial auditions. Past students have shown improvements in self-confidence, diction and focus. Students will work on camera and have the opportunity to self-critique.

SATURDAY ACTING TECHNIQUES

All exercises are designed to give the actor the opportunity to improve his/her level of expertise and to gain an understanding of character analysis and scene study. As students’ understanding of acting skills broadens, they are able to layer their performances with more dimension and believability. Acting, in essence, is a lifetime study. It is definitely a case of “the more you know, the more you realize what you don’t know.” As students evolve and grow in understanding and maturity, so does their ability to perform as a young professional. This is a great class to combine with our Saturday Broadway for Kids class…see below for COMBO class and our special discounted course fee!

SATURDAY BROADWAY FOR KIDS
10:30-12PM AGES: 9-14 FEE: $275
INSTRUCTOR: KEITH HEIMANN

This is the perfect class for those who love the music and magic of Broadway. Students learn all aspects of what it takes to perform in a musical number with confidence and show biz flare. Vocal and acting techniques are the prime focus in this very popular class taught by a Broadway veteran.

SATURDAY THEATRE COMBO
9-12PM AGES: 9-14 FEE: $475 (You Save $75!)
INSTRUCTOR: ROBIN ODDO & KEITH HEIMANN

This combo class includes two classes: Acting Techniques (9-10:30am) and Broadway Kids (10:30-12pm) and offers students a special discounted rate with two dynamic professionals who offer a challenging and motivating experience.
