The Basie Awards
Basie Awards
2012 Basie Awards Ceremony will be Wednesday, May 23, 2012
As the new school year begins, we are gearing up for the Seventh Annual
Basie Awards Program. Our commitment to fostering an appreciation of the arts
and honoring excellence in high school theatre is paramount to the success of
this awards program. Last year’s roster of participating schools reached an all
time high with twenty five Monmouth County private, public and vocational and
parochial high schools participating. The level of professionalism and growth
exhibited by the twenty five Monmouth County High Schools who have continued to
be a part of the awards process has been phenomenal.
For the participants; the teachers, directors, administrators, students,
technical crews, the rewards have far surpassed the momentary “high” of winning
a Basie. These comments we’ve received say it all:
“It was a very enjoyable evening and one I know my
students will treasure forever.”
“Without your help we would not have been able to
participate in the Basie awards this year which were extremely exciting to
everyone involved in the production. The review we received was extremely
helpful and will help our shows next year into productions we can be proud of,
knowing that we were able to learn and expand our artistic experience through
the critiques offered by the Basies."
“The ceremony itself was one of the best I've seen
and I know seeing the passion that other students have for theater was truly
eye opening for many of our students. Thank you for helping to inspire
students…we can't wait to participate again next year.”
“I hope that the knowledge that you and your
associates are truly making a difference in the schools, and touching the lives
of so many students, make all of the hard work you do worthwhile.”
