Box Office Assistants (Part-Time)
Box Office Assistants are responsible for processing ticket orders in person at the box office window, and by phone, fax and the internet. Box Office Assistants must be dependable, reliable and personable, and be able to multi-task in a very fast paced environment. Responsibilities include heavy phone work, general office and clerical duties, and maintaining an excellent level of customer service. The box office is regularly open Monday to Friday from 12:00 noon to 6:00 p.m., Saturdays from 12:00 noon to 3:00 p.m., and through intermission (usually about 8:30 p.m.) on show nights. Box Office Assistants work somewhat flexible hours within the regular box office hours. These positions are ideal for college students or those seeking regular part-time work. Requirements include a minimum of a high school diploma, excellent references (from previous employers, not friends or family) computer literacy, and an ability to process and retain information quickly. Knowledge of MS Word and Excel are helpful but not necessary. Box Office Assistant positions become available from time to time, and we like to have resumes on file for immediate consideration when a position does become available. Ushers (Part-Time)
Ushers are responsible for assisting customers and ensuring that their Count Basie Theatre experience is pleasant and hassle-free. Ushers attend to the needs of patrons, escorting, directing or assisting patrons to their seats. Ushers also respond to patron questions regarding the theatre and its events, assist in the resolution of the occasional ticket or seating problem, and if necessary actively participate in the emergency evacuation of the theatre. Ushers also assist in cleaning the theatre and lobby following performances. Work hours are from one and one-half hours before show time until about one-half hour after show time, typically from 6:30 p.m. to about 11:00 p.m. Scheduling is flexible. Usher positions become available from time to time, and we like to have resumes on file for immediate consideration when a position does become available. Bartenders (Part-Time)
The Count Basie Theatre maintains a roster of experienced bartenders to work with the regular bar staff on an as-needed basis. Working hours are typically from 5:00 or 6:00 p.m. to about 11:00 p.m. Experience in an upscale restaurant or nightclub atmosphere is highly desired. Scheduling is flexible. Send resumes and at least three references from previous employers to the Bar Manager at the address above.

Stagehands (Part-Time)
The Count Basie Theatre maintains a roster of stagehands, theatrical electricians, audio engineers, riggers, loaders, wardrobe, props and other theatrical professionals from which to draw stage crews on an as-needed basis. Working hours vary according to the needs of a specific production, which on a show day could be from as little as six hours, to as many as sixteen hours or more.
